Blue Ridge Buck
½ a fresh peach plus one slice for garnish
dash ginger simple syrup
½ oz lemon juice
2 oz bourbon (omit for a mocktail)
a few dashes peach bitters
Ginger Beer to fill glass
Garnish: peach slice and lemon wheel
Make: Muddle peach, ginger simple, lemon juice, and bitters in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass and top with ginger beer. The spicer the ginger beer the better!
Ginger Simple
1-2 pieces of 1 inch fresh ginger chunks
1 cup white granulated sugar
1 cup water
Make: peel and grate the ginger. Add the ginger, sugar, and water to a saucepan and heat to a boil. Once boiled, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain and store the mixture in the fridge.
